Accident Summary - continued

Subsequent to this accident, new rules have been created for fuel lines requiring them to deform and stretch without leakage following survivable accidents. Further rulemaking is being considered to better define a reasonable degree of deformation and stretching. Advisory material may include the "guillotine test" as illustrated in the graphic below.
