Swissair Flight 111, MD-11, Peggy's Cove
The Swissair Flight 111 accident crossed a variety of disciplines. However, it was a particularly important one for the systems discipline, especially in the areas of wiring and fire protection.

Likewise, safety paradigms in design and certification failed to hold true. Advances in technology also played a key role in this accident.
